Common questions
Are English-language contracts valid in Armenia?
Yes, between commercial parties. For court proceedings or registration purposes, certified Armenian translations are required. MOSTAR drafts bilingual contracts to cover both needs.
Do shareholder agreements need to be registered?
No. Shareholder agreements are private contracts between parties — they do not need to be filed with the State Registry. However, provisions that modify charter-level rights may require a charter amendment, which is registered.
What must an Armenian employment contract include?
Under the Labour Code: parties' details, job title, start date, salary, working hours, probation period (if any), and notice period. MOSTAR includes standard IP assignment and confidentiality clauses as well.
Can MOSTAR handle contracts governed by foreign law?
MOSTAR drafts contracts governed by Armenian law. For contracts governed by English, US, or UAE law, MOSTAR can coordinate with partner firms in those jurisdictions.
